Mophology This drug is long and oblong, 7 ~ 9 mm long, 3 ~ 4 mm wide, hard when the husk is peeled off, and with one farinaceous semen inside of the husk. The outer surface is yellow and hard with thin tiny hairs and 5 vascular channels; the snapped surface is white. The radicle is white, line-shaped, 2 mm long, and producing 1 ~ 3 root hairs from one of two radicles. It is odourless, and tastes slightly sweet.

Processing

preparation of Rice sprout : 1. Select the rice grains and soak in water for 1-2 days. 2. Put them in a well-drained container and cover with wet straw mat. 3. Dash water on it several times a day until their sprouts grow to be about 1cm and take out to dry in the sun. , scorched Rice sprout : Put the rice sprout into a parching pot and keep stirring over a medium fire until it become scorched yellow and the husks burst open and there gives off odor. , parched Rice sprout : 1. Put the rice sprout in a parching pot and stir over a low fire until deep yellow. 2. As the grain bursts, dry in the air.
